Hanging up my cape is the perfect accompaniment to a glorious summer’s day and antidote for a particular gloomy one.
Sitting at home on Valentines Day; an archaic holiday that I really don’t care about of course, and I really don’t care that my only Valentine came from my big sister….
I was moping around, popped the album on and I can safely say it’s medicine, and it is near impossible to stay sullen when the chorus to Bring a Little Sunshine comes in.
Areeba areeba… maraccs at the ready and flamenco –
I love the album, switching effortlessly from ska/folk/Latina/ the list goes on.
Jim does one of my favorite things in music; Setting a somewhat sad song to an upbeat melody, there’s nothing like tapping your foot to the pain we hide.
They say we Brits don’t speak another language… well Jim does, this one however speaks fluent pigeon in most languages – it is my understanding that Les Formis is a about an ant?
Whether you go for Jim, Jack, James or Jason, they all have one thing in common (J?) they’re supply us with warm easy tracks, like cycling with your feet on the handle bars through a country meadow in the sunshine.
A little gem.
