Revolva Head EP The Truth

Revolva Head are a three piece grunge fuelled band from Barnoldswick The Truth is their new EP, which is a combination of their best tracks on one album, the EP itself showcases what the boys are about and how the boys get about their business in a rough and ready way, the lyrics in each track are strong, but are ably backed up by the raging guitars and drums in the background.

Revolva Head on this EP have very catchy lyrics as well as good hooks, I find this on every track bar the first in my opinion that the weakest track should maybe been left off the EP, yet it does not detract from The Truth that this EP is a great start to what the boys could achieve within this genre they sound like a Million Dead but with more bite.

Really did enjoy ‘Don’t ask how,’ very catchy hook imbedded with the bands energy and work ethic, seems to create a happy marriage within the track, my only thought is that they do more tracks in this vein and steer clear of more commercial tracks, yet if they are looking to create more music to sell then cheesy and simple hooks will be needed.

The Truth as a whole really does highlight the instrumental skill this trio have as well as showing less really is more as the sound they produce is bigger than some five pieces I have been to see, the EP also has the that roughness to it that makes it seem that it belongs, not an easy skill to master hence it sounds great and so natural if it is heard, otherwise can sound really clumsy, this is not.

‘The Fake one’s’ really showcases everything Revolva Head can produce as a collective and it will be great to hear these tracks live it is an interesting conundrum, to see if the next full length album with ten tracks plus will still have the same bite we look forward to finding out.
