From: Manchestaaaa
Members: Steven Dobb (Vox and Guitars), Lorna Blundell (Drums), Ollie Smith (Bass), Sally Mason (guest vocals)
Look Like: Nice People. Look, they’ve got woolly hats on in their pictures on Facebook and everything. They must be some kind of folk band that sell potted jam to keep their hippy van topped up with vegetable oil right? Right?
Sounds like: Band of Skulls performing a satanic ritual in a darkened cellar, playing riffs like a pneumatic drill and generally fucking things up. In a good way.
Recordings: New EP ‘Gush’ is a riotous three tack attack available on SoundCloud. As well as demonstrating their nigh on apocalyptical power, the songs present and show a range as well as depth to their sound. Check out ‘Gagged and bound’ for some of Dobb’s most innovative fretwork and ‘Under The Wave’ for it’s malevolent undercurrents, bubbling beneath the surface as the vocals duet beautifully above.
Myspace: Of course not, what are you, 12 and stuck in 2004? You can check out their Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/thehyenakill or alternatively go to http://www.thehyenakill.com/ where you can find links to ‘Gush’ as well as videos and info on upcoming gigs.
