This acoustically fuelled EP by Welsh collective The Long agos was a real surprise from seeing them really let loose on stage to this shows that they can adapt to various situations and their talents should not be underestimated, their sound is tuneful, yet there is a hint of darkness to the sound made, which allured myself to listen to more.
The boys take their name from part of a classic Small Faces track, ‘The Long Agos’ are inspired by anything that was ever any good from Long Ago I like the way the link old styles within their somewhat unique and fresh style, it shows that creativity truly is dead just misplaced in some cases
They formed as a reaction to the same old arctic monkeys-esque shite that new ‘musicians’ seem to think they need to emulate and ‘industry types’ think the public want to hear. For these reasons among others I respect the sound these gentlemen are trying to produce it takes balls to state you will not follow the norm, this is why it was a great joy to listen to the EP.
The Long ago EP has a somewhat majestic feel in that it sounds smooth and soothing to the ear a lot like a darker melodic Travis mixed with Cast, but their style is really all their own, the main track which holds true to their ethos ‘Obergurgl.’ The track is dark, yet holds your attention the lyrics are strong and I look forward to the forthcoming album, with more variations in the fields of electro, drum and base, yet still holding true to what these boys are about.

I agree with all of the above, put me in mind also of Keane and even the Beatles at points which is a strange combination but works really well!! However I feel The Long Agos have an Original, Raw and Unique sound of their own with a great balance of harmonies which I personally love listening to. Good sound and lyrics should have been signed Long Ago!! xxx
